UCLA Bound EFS Athlete Makes 1st Team All-Mercury News
Crystal Shaffie, First Team All-Mercury News
School: Archbishop Mitty
H.S. Position: Defense
Year: Senior
EFS Achievements: While training with EFS, Crystal set the EFS 20yd dash record for her age group at an exceptional 2.81 seconds!
The Mercury News wrote:
The UCLA Soccer Scholarship-bound senior moved from forward to fullback and continued to excel, earning first-team honors in the West Catholic Athletic League. She also led the Monarchs with 10 assists and scored six goals.
Her head coach had some confirming things to say as well: "Shaffie was an excellent defender, but still managed to score most of her goals and assists from the back line. Crystal is also incredibly fit, she can run the 70 yards from box to box without any fatigue," Coach Hanley said.
Head UCLA women's soccer coach Jillian Ellis said in announcing the signing of seven players to national letters of intent "Our focus every year is to land the best players in the country and I believe we achieved that goal yet again. This coaching staff is eager to begin working with this talented group of individuals."
These accomplishments make Crystal a strong candidate for EFS Training Stars.
